Sterling Estates shows progress in East Cobb

B+C Studio’s latest project rapidly approaches the time for landscape installation. This aerial shows progress in January of 2012. B+C Studio will be helping the owners to open the sales office in the next few weeks . Seen in the lower right hand corner, the sales office is one of the independent living cottages that will be available when construction is complete.

When it opens later this year, the community is expected to be the premiere senior facility in Cobb County and one of the very few centrally located in ‘East Cobb’. The community will feature both independent and assisted living arrangements.

B+C Studio prepares design for Kia subsidiary Powertech

In December of 2011 B+C Studio was one of only two companies selected to present concepts for PowerTech’s five acre frontage near the new Kia automobile plant in West Point, Georgia.

B+C Studio presented two concepts:

PowerTech Landscape Concept

Curvilinear Park Concept with Bio-Swale for PowerTech Plant

For the first we created a passive park where the employees walk through beautiful gardens each day. It featured a large bio-swale along with significant plantings of trees, a central lawn and a large commercial fountain as a focal point and back drop.

The second concept was intended to create something striking and more memorable. It was a concept for a rectilinear garden with clipped hedges forming sculptural geometric masses. The hedges additionally created outdoor rooms focused on sculptures. The garden encompassed various experiences for the users of the space. For this concept we were able to locate a source for mature boxwoods which were suitable to be shaped on the day of install in order to instantly provide the effect desired.

B+C Studio staff pride themselves on being able to envision multiple concepts for their jobs. Each project is unique and requires its own contextually sensitive  and diverse designs to suit specific client tastes, desires and needs. B+C Studio completes Pro bono project for Smyrna Heights Neighborhood Park

Beginning in 2011 B+C Studio’s director of Design, Sean J Murphy began working on a concept for a linear park along Concord Road in Smyrna, Georgia. The concept was just finished in January and presented to the Citizens of Smyrna Heights at a neighborhood forum where 40 people gathered to learn about this project and others. A presentation to the Mayor and Council of Smyrna is expected in the coming days.

The linear park would act as a catalyst for future development and hopefully spark renewed interest in redeveloping the area. The concept includes major elements such as a community garden, dog park, retail out-parcel, and a community art center. Although the design is, at this time, nothing more than an imaginative concept, it hopefully will garner the attention of local politicians and residents and lead to the completion of a final Master Plan endorsed by the public, staff and elected officials.
